Romeo is ARRF'S PitBull, he came to our rescue when he was 12 weeks old, he was hit by a car and his owners left him in a ditch for 3 days before seeking medical attention. They then found out he was paralyzed from the chest down and wanted him euthanized. I was there that day and had the owners sign him into our rescue. Romeo has been in a wheelchair ever since. He is a very happy guy who just turned 2 years old, he does not know that you are not supposed to have wheels! 2 weeks ago, Romeo stood up to eat.....it was wrong as his feet were backwards but he was standing, he has started to crawl on his knees. We took Romeo to a neurologist who diagnosed him as a spinal walker. He said because his accident was when he was so young, he now is developing nerve endings to fire off. He still has a disconnect from the brain to the legs, but, with physical therapy and a set of leg braces(kind of like Forrest Gumps) he will walk. He may never walk correctly, and not for long distances, but he could for the first time in almost 2 years be able to walk.

This is Abby, one of our foster dogs who needs sponsorship: Abby was chained her entire life, we had to remove the chain from her nech surgically, she is 40-50lbs underweight, she also has a neurological disorder, she requires Deramaxx and Robaxin daily in order to not be in pain and be able to walk. She is also an extremem heartworm positive that will require immiticide treatments.
