***UPDATE*****
Glinda has had her eyes removed and she is no longer in pain. She no longer tries to rub her face on things to aleviate her pain and then screams in pain. She knows where everything in the house is and bumps into things sometimes and yipes because it scares her but other than that she is adjusting very nicely to life with no eyes. She is pain free now. the trauma she endured in her previous life have left some pretty hefty emotion scars. She must be taken to the vet to be sedated to be groomed, and her foster mom is working with her to try to comb her. She is also working on trying to put a collar on her so she could learm to walk on a leash. She needs a quiet home that understands her trust issues. She is very sweet once she gets to know you. She also has food allergies and can only have a very specific diet.
Hi! My name is Glinda and I know it is hard to tell right now but I am a purebred Shih Tzu. I was pulled from a high-kill shelter where they said I would have never made it out of there alive so I am very greatful at my new leash on life! I have not been treated well in the past and have VERY bad eyes, entropian infections, ulcers behind the eyes that at this point I am in so much pain every day the surgeon is going to remove my eyes in hopes to give me a better life, and a pain free life. My foster mommy is hoping this will hlp me to be adoptable. The way my eyes are currently you cannot come near my face they hurt so much that you cannot put medicine in them that I need, so please keep your fingers crossed for me that this surgery will help me and then I will be able to find my forever home. Special Needs: Glinda has had to have her eyes removed due to years of dry eyes and neglect from no one taking care of the dry eyes and the infection that this caused. She is now completely blind. She is figuring things out but completely out of pain. She needs a patient home where someone knows how to handle a completely blind dog and one that cannot tolerate a lot of excitement as it gets her agitated and scared.
